Thank you for your interest My Grandfather’s House and considering spending your time volunteering in Cambodia.
My Grandfather’s House is a small-scale supplementary education centre and capacity building programme in Kralanh, approximately 54 kilometres west of Siem Reap, in a rural village called Sampov Lourn. We are very pleased to know that there are so many people interested in supporting our work and the children of Cambodia.
Whilst we aim to to have all positions covered by local Khmer staff, we appreciate that volunteers can be beneficial in strengthening and developing the capacity of our Khmer staff in their direct work with the children and local villagers. We believe this, in turn, will help sustain and strengthen the knowledge-base in our programmes and activities, and also make your volunteer support more valuable for the children and the long-term development of My Grandfather’s House and similar projects in rural Cambodia.
